In-store Radio

Forsway can offer a complete in-store radio solution. The system can greatly reduce the cost for in-store radio in a chain of stores while at the same time optimizing advertisement.

Instead of one satellite radio channel with centrally injected advertisements for each store or region the system uses the same radio channel for all stores, with advertisements injected locally. The result is a greatly reduced cost for satellite bandwidth, easier to manage advertisements and the possiblity of customized advertisements down to the single shop, or even department of a shop.

The system consists of two parts:

  1. Playback devices for deployment in stores. The playback device is most of the time playing a satellite radio channel but can on command fade down the radio and inject an advertisement clip.
  2. Central advertisement management server. The system operator assigns a playback device to each store. Advertisements are assigned to the stores and are automatically transferred to the correct playback device.

The playback devices works completely autonomous without manual intervention. Once a playback device has been installed in a shop and assigned to that specific shop in the management interface all settings are automatically downloaded. Audio clips are centrally managed for all playback devices and are automatically downloaded. The playback devices reports status of health and played advertisements for billing.
