Even though Víli™ is Odín™'s little brother he shouldn't be underestimated.
He might not have lightning speed throughput, lower symbol rate support and 3G as the terrestrial return channel.
However, what he does have is the same simplicity, efficiency and cost saving properties as his older brother. Maybe that is exactly what you are looking for?
Satellite forward channel
The Víli™ supports DVB-S2/DVB-S together with MPE encapsulation and CCM modulation.
2.5G EDGE terrestrial return channel
A bit higher latency than the 3G return channel in the Odín™. However, you will still reduce the cost as an satellite operator since no satellite capacity is needed for the return traffic.
Multicast support
Víli™ supports multicast in the same way as his older brother.
Web based user interface
There is no need to install any drivers in order to control the Víli™ from your computer. The user interface is based on HTTP/HTML so all you need to do is connect an Ethernet cable between your computer and the Víli™ and that's all there is to it.
Use your regular dish and LNB
A small dish (30cm) and an universal LNB is all you need to get started.
